A Little Goes A Long Way
It caught my eye especially when the author made the statement she thought Happiness was fleeting and something incapable of improving her life. So she set out to see what could be done to do just that.
Well, when she also commented that some of the smallest, simplest, things that actually happen to you throughout the day can and do create a moment or even a greater amount of time when you are happy.
My example. The other day, I was returning home in the afternoon just after visiting my father who lives in a care center. It is always a blessing to be with him because he to me is so remarkable at age 95 to still have it basically all together as one would say. Well, I just left and happened to notice in the sky the most beautiful rainbow and I was immediately transported into all sorts of happiness. As I carefully drove and continued to actually watch it unfold the first thing that came to mind was how incredible for me to have the experience presented at that moment. Next I thought, I wonder how many others are seeing this beautiful sign in the sky and too are excited and happy having just witnessed it. You know they say that there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, well just seeing the rainbow in a sky that was spectacular to begin with was the pot of gold for me and so, what was just a little bit of time has gone a long way to make me happy. Even as I write this now I am happy because I had the opportunity to see this and I cannot help believe there was and is a reason or purpose behind it.
So here is the artitcle which will shed more light on what the author has to say about Happiness. http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Learning_Happiness_Everyday_Activities_to_Increase_Your_Happiness.html
it really is quite good and something to put into practice daily.
